Earlier Detection Improves Survival Rates
Recent medical literature reports the clear superiority of low-dose CT scans over conventional chest x-rays in detecting early lung cancer.
The American Cancer Society states that "low-dose CT is more sensitive than chest x-ray in the detection of small pulmonary nodules". Diagnosing lung cancer in its earlier stages when cure rates are higher leads to improved survival rates.
